5 Ways to Follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)

Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is the greatest benefactor of humanity and a light source for humankind. His (PBUH) arrival pulled the people of Arabia out of the darkness and showed them light. Of course, the best way to express your love for Muhammad (PBUH) is to send salutations to him. As Allah (SWT) says in the Quran:

“Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [ Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [ Allah to grant him] peace.” (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:56)

However, merely sending peace on him (PBUH) without making any other efforts is not enough. It is essential for the Muslims, living in today’s chaotic world, to revive the lifestyle taught by our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

As Anas Bin Malik narrates:

“The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said to me: ‘Whoever revives my Sunnah then he has loved me. And whoever loved me, he shall be with me in Paradise.'” (Tirmidhi: 2678)

But before we jump to discuss how we can adopt a Sunnah lifestyle, it is vital to shed some light on the link between the Quran and Sunnah.

The Connection between Quran and Sunnah

The relation between the Quran and Sunnah is such that the latter is the clarification of the former. The Sunnah explains and sheds light on the laws or regulations mentioned in the Quran. Some things are briefly mentioned in the Quran, and we need the guidance of Sunnah to clarify the deeper issues related to those.

A good example is the Salah. The Quran orders Muslims to pray, but it does not mention how many times they are supposed to do so. This is when the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) guides us through the way.

When focusing on the aspect of Sunnah, one should make sure that they are proficient in the Quranic studies too. Studying the Quran and Sunnah courses simultaneously would offer tremendous help to make things easier for driven Muslims. You can take Online Quran Classes where the tutors use Skype or any other platform to deliver authentic information regarding the Quran and Sunnah.

The key is to make efforts. If you strive for the sake of Allah (SWT), He will surely ease the matters of this Dunya for you. As He (SWT) says in the Quran:

“And obey Allah and obey the messenger; but if you turn away, then upon Our Messenger is only [the duty of] clear notification.” (At-Taghabun 64:12)

Thus, if you want your character to be like the one preferred by the Quran and the Holy Prophet (PBUH), you need to study the Sunnah. It can be a challenge to follow the Sunnah in this age of modernism and technology. Nonetheless, Muslims should make a constant effort to stay adrift in the Divine waters.

5 Ways to Follow the Sunnah

Here are five ways to help you follow the Sunnah:

  1. Look for Authentic Information

One of the biggest fitnah of our age is the existence of false information. We heavily rely on the facts that we learn from online platforms without rectifying them from a scholar or a credible tutor.

As Muslims, it is crucial to make sure that the places you collect information about Sunnah are verified. You can study the books of Ahadith and Seerah that are certified. Or you can also ask for information from your online Quran tutor, who would guide you on how to filter the accurate information from a pool of incorrect knowledge.

  1. Obey Every Sunnah

Besides some Sunnahs that are gender or time-specific, there are many general Sunnahs that we can implement in our lives. Once you have heard about a Sunnah from a credible resource, you must work towards its implementation.

There should be no excuses or arguments from our side. Allah (SWT) beautifully defines the character of His obedient servants in the following verse:

“The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], “We make no distinction between any of His messengers.” And they say, “We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination.” (2:285)

  1. Learn About the Companions

After Muhammad (PBUH), his Companions are the most significant source of inspiration for us. We must learn about these superheroes and understand how they managed to follow the Sunnah despite living with limited resources. They didn’t have access to technology and luxuries like we have today. Yet they posed an uncanny resemblance to the lifestyle of our beloved Prophet (PBUH).

  1. Keep Good Company

Keeping good company is crucial to ensure that we stay on the track determined for us by Our Lord (SWT). Having righteous friends will keep reminding us that we have a higher authority to give our accounts to. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) also emphasizes upon the importance of having good friends. He (PBUH) says:

“Man is on the religion of his friend, so let every one of you examine whom he befriends.” (Tirmidhi)

  1. Seek Reward from Allah (SWT)

As mentioned earlier, we will face some severe challenges when trying to follow a Sunnah lifestyle. People might humiliate us or make it difficult for us to travel this path. In these dark times, we have to remember that our reward awaits with our Lord. These people do not have any power to give us respect or demean us in front of society.

Make sure that you do everything for Allah (SWT). Having intentions to please people or flaunting your righteousness will push all your efforts down the drain. May Allah (SWT) grant us the company of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his Companions in the Hereafter. Aameen!

Learn Noorani Qaida

Most of us have been through the phase where our Quran teachers taught us the Noorani Qaida. It is an essential book that introduces learners to the Arabic language used in the Quran.

Every individual beginning their journey to understand the Quran must learn NooraniQaida as the first step. It introduces the Arabic letters and symbols, making the student understand how to combine them and appropriately read them.

If you are a non-Arab, it is quite difficult to start reading the Quran without the necessary knowledge. The same happens with our children. Given that they have no prior knowledge of Arabic introducing Noorani Qaida to them might be a wise choice. It helps them learn the Quran better.

Quick Tip: Gain some knowledge on how to learn Noorani Qaida for kids to plan your future steps.

Often times, when parents admit their child for Quran learning courses, they have hesitations regarding Qaida for beginners. There is a false assumption that the child will be late in his/her Quran reading, leading them to feel discouraged.

However, the Quran tutors

Here are three more reasons why you or your child should learn NooraniQaida first:

  1. Increases Familiarity with Arabic

Most of the students who register for online Qaida teaching have limited knowledge of Arabic. They aim to improve their knowledge of Arabic letters and symbols. And Qaida is the foundation to familiarize yourself with the basics of the Arabic language.

However, sometimes, parents or kids are not in favor of enrolling in a Qaida course. If you fall into this category, it is about time you rectify your approach. Noorani Qaida is an introductory book that introduces all the core concepts. Application of these concepts later takes place in the Holy Quran.

The correct pronunciation of each letter and symbol makes it easier for them to formulate words when they reach the Quran. They have fewer stuttering issues, and they can grab the basics of pronunciation swiftly.

It is important to point at how some native Arabs decide to initiate from the Holy Quran. The fact that they are the natives of this language gives them the confidence to start off directly from the Quran. Nonetheless, it is crucial to acknowledge that the dialect used in the Quran today has a stark difference from the dialect used in earlier times. The Arabic language spoken today is different from the language of the Quran. This is why Arabs and non-Arabs alike must initiate from Qaida for beginners.

In case you or any child in your family fails to manage time and resources for on-site learning, you can opt to learn Qaida online. You can look up how to learn Noorani Qaida online, and you will find hundreds of results where tutors offer online Qaida teaching.

  1. Helps to improve Tajweed

The purpose of the science of tajweed is to make the reciter proficient in Quranic recitation. They must observe every symbol and letter’s correct pronunciation with traits and rulings that apply to it. There should be no deficiency or exaggeration of sounds.

Allah (SWT) says in the Quran:

“…And recite the Qur’an with measured recitation.” (Qur’an 73:4)

When children begin to learn Qaida online or offline, the instructor tells them about each letter’s ups and downs. This enables them to make better combinations with the letters and symbols. Allah (SWT) has devised a particular set of rules and instructions to follow when reading the Quran. It is the Book from Allah, and reciting it in a wrong way might displease the Almighty (SWT).

Quick Tip: When you enroll yourself or your child to learn Noorani Qaida online, take steps to check the credibility of the book used by your tutors.

  1. Helps to improve recitation

In the Quran, Allah (SWT) says:

“Those to whom We gave the Book recite it as it should be recited, they are the ones that believe therein.” (Qur’an 2:121)

Most parents who enroll their kids in an Islamic Center hope for their children to recite the Quran in a beautiful and melodious voice someday. It is important to admit them to a class that teaches Qaida for beginners. These classes have a particular way of teaching kids from the beginning and allowing them to read complete Quranic ayah using a soft, melodious tone.

When you learn NooraniQaida online, you will develop an understanding of consonants, vowels, rules applicable to different letters, and extensions. The tutor involved in online Qaida teaching makes a child recite entire verses by completing the entire Qaida.

  1. Helps to enhance recitation pace

It is natural for a child to stutter when they have started reading the Quran. Tutors find teaching them relatively easy if they have already read the Qaida for beginners (whether online or offline). This is because the student is aware of all the concepts introduced as the basics. They navigate through the verses and apply all the rules when they learn Noorani Qaida online.

The knowledge of foundation concepts increases their speed of narration. And once your child has completed the Quran’s recitation from cover to cover, you can consider enrolling them in another program such as Tafseer or Arabic language. This aspect of Noorani Qaida empowers most of the parents to look upon the topic of how to learn Noorani Qaida for kids.

Concluding Comments

After scrutinizing all the benefits that tag along when kids learn NooraniQaida, we can’t choose to ignore its study for them. Even though it might be challenging for some parents to send their child to an Islamic Center amid their hectic routines, there is always an option to sign up for online Qaida teaching. It takes less time, and they provide you a flexible schedule to work around.

Remember that skipping the step to learn Norani Qaida might have a drastic impact on the overall learning of a child. Familiarizing with the basics should be adequate, well-taught, and drilled into their minds.

We hope you will find a reliable Noorani Qaida tutor for your child and watch your little star reciting the Book of Allah in a beautiful voice, inshaAllah!

Rediscovering your love with Allah

All of us grew up listening to how Allah (SWT) loves us abundantly.

“He loves us seventy times more than our mothers.”

“His love and mercy are there for us, even when we sin!”

There are countless such statements spoken by our elders, denoting the ceaseless affection of Our Lord for us. But, let me ask you a trick question:

How many of us reciprocate this love? Do you ever cry just because you love Allah so much?

Sadly, we are caught in the hustle of this life. The rat race going around us makes it impossible to make time for Allah (SWT). We offer Salah like we are throwing off a burden from our shoulders. We rush through our Duas, paying no heed to the words that we utter.

The state of our Imaan is despicable!

But let’s snap ourselves out of the rut. Allah (SWT) questions us in the Quran:

“Fa’ayin’a Tazhaboon?”

It seems like a common question. Yet, when you reflect on it, you will discover it is brimming with the love of Allah (SWT). He adoringly asks His servants, “so, where are you going?”

“Where are you headed to, Ali?”

“What is your destination Zaid?”

“What will you get out of it, Hamid?”

Allah wants us to pause and evaluate our condition. Good for you that you have reached your goal of becoming a doctor or a teacher. However, what’s the game plan for your future?

The Action Plan

Being a Muslim, it is our ultimate duty to serve Allah. Besides worshipping him and obliging all His commands, we should serve the creation too. Remember that Allah (SWT) does not depend on us to defend His religion.

It is for our sake that we indulge in any activities beloved to Allah (SWT). You can only do so if you love Him back. There are plenty of ways to elevate your connection with Allah (SWT). Here are a few:

  • Recite Quran daily
  • Understand Quran through Tafseer
  • Study the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)
  • Spend more on charity
  • Recite Adhkar
  • Make Dua

Parting Notes

Remember, Allah (SWT) knows how messed up we are. If you begin fixing the connection today, He (SWT) will value your efforts. For instance, if you can’t attend a Halaqah on-site, there are plenty of virtual options available nowadays. Enroll yourself in an online Quran class or look for someone who teaches Tafseer online. Your sincerity towards the task will help you reach credible tutors, inshaAllah.

May Allah (SWT) make us tread on the Right Path. Aameen!

3 ways to implement and follow the Sunnah lifestyle

The Sunnah includes all that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said, did, and all of his actions and behaviors. It would suffice to say that everything he said and every gesture he made during his life was a Sunnah.

In a broader sense, Sunnah also includes wishes. And prohibitions from Allah (SWT) levied on Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Allah (SWT) tells us, time and again, in the Quran that we should follow the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) if we want to prove our love for Allah (SWT). His whole life was a walking Quran, and following him is the path that will lead us to the Gardens of Paradise.

Importance of the Sunnah

The Sunnah of Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) is an excellent source of satisfaction and happiness in a Muslim’s life. In fact, there were many habitual actions of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) that science proves to be highly beneficial today. For example, he used to wake up early every morning. Today, being an early riser has been scientifically proven to bring better productivity and extensive health benefits.

No wonder why Allah (SWT) says in the Quran:

You have a good model in the Messenger of Allah for one who hopes for Allah and the Last Day.” [Qur’an 33:21]

We all have firm faith that this world will come to an end. It will be a day of chaos, and the Ummah of Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) holds a good chance of being saved if they follow the Sunnah with sincere intentions. It is about time we explore the lifestyle provided by Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Signing yourself up for an online Quran course that you always wanted to should happen right away!

Merely chanting that “I love Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)” without showing any practical examples is not enough. Allah (SWT) wants concrete proof, and that comes if you try to implement a Sunnah lifestyle.

Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) once said,

“None of you will be regarded to have believed. Unless he loves me more than himself, his father, his children, and everybody.” [Bukhari and Muslim]

Causes and Effects of Distance from the Quran in Muslim Society

For Muslims, the Quran is a word of Allah revealed to transform human life. It was meant to pull them out of darkness and show them the way of light. Sadly, the state of Muslim Society today is far from what was idealized by Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). Islam is facing a wave of uncertainty by many Muslims. The part played by social media and the Western-initiated propaganda are eventually causing a discontentment among the Muslims. Quran Effects

While most of us are playing the blame game, it is imperative to understand the part played by us. What is the reason of our deteriorating relationship with the Islam? What role can we play to ensure that this bond stays intact?

This blog will help the readers evaluate their spiritual state and judge if it needs a refurbish.

Causes of Distance from the Quran

As materialism slowly seeps in our lives, the space between Muslims and their basic faith has widened. There is a stark difference between practices of the ordinary Muslims in the past and the current practitioners of faith.

The luxurious lifestyle coupled with glamor demonstrated on the social media has impressed Muslim youth to the core. They are more interested to have a new iPhone in their hands instead of the Quran. The idea of being well-versed in modern education is more tempting for the young minds as compared to the idea of being well-versed about the Quran.

Along with that, constant Islam phobic thoughts initiated by the Western media are slowly polluting the minds of our next generation. There are doubts in the minds of many Muslims which stop them from pursuing their faith.

Moreover, the fact that Muslims parents are highly concerned about the worldly education of their child is making oodles of difference in their inclination towards Islam. The fact that most parents worry about sending their child to the best college or university instead of an Islamic institute is drifting children away from Islam. There is a gradual growth of perception where people believe that admitting a child to the Islamic Institute will cause a negative effect on their social standing.

Fundamentally, Islam is the continuation of faith that was sent down to the Prophets before Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). It is said in the Quran:

“Say (O Mohammed), We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed unto Abraham and Ismael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and that which was vouchsafed unto Moses and Jesus and the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and unto Him we have surrendered” (3/84)

This verse and many more lay the foundation of Islamic belief system. However, some scholars of the current Muslim world have created disunity through their unacceptable belief system. Instead of guiding the Ummah to practice one ideology, there are multiple ideologies functioning at the same time. This causes a rupture in the Muslim front. Consequently, many young Muslims and converts lose heart in this prestigious religion. Quran Effects

Effects of Distance from the Quran

After reflecting on the causes, it is vital to explore the impact of this widening gap. Here are some consequences of distance from the Quran:

  • Growing love for worldly luxuries
  • Lack of affection for Islam
  • No strength among Muslims to defend their faith
  • Doubts and confusions about evident Islamic laws
  • Disunity in the Muslim Society
  • Uncertainty about the Day of Judgment
  • Humiliation in the community as Allah doesn’t love a person who turns away from the Quran
  • Doubts and bad perceptions about the practicing Muslims

Final Thoughts

There is a massive debate that talks about what drives Muslims away from their religion. At the same time, it is essential to highlight the ways we can adopt to narrow down this gap. We have to stand together, work on our rectification, and fix the loopholes in faith of people around us.

We hope our readers will figure out a creative way to do so. Don’t forget to tell us what your strategy is!

How can you save yourself from evil?

The Quran reminds us, over and again, about the existence of evil. It is everywhere around us, working hard to push us beyond the limits set by Allah (SWT). Not only this, but there is also another factor of evil that we must remember. Duas

That is the evil eye.

It is not a product of superstition nor based on impractical assumptions. In fact, the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said:

“The evil eye is real, and if anything were to overtake the divine decree (Al-Qadar), it would be the evil eye.” (Muslim 2188)

In Arabic, the word “al-ayn” is used for the evil eye. It refers to the way a person causes harm, consciously, or unconsciously, through his/her vision. Typically, it starts with a person appreciating your blessings but then turns into the feeling of hatred and envy. Later, it causes harm to the possessor.

However, you must remember that not every individual who likes your blessings is jealous. It is only those who harbor negative feelings about you who bring such an impact.

Thankfully, Our Lord (SWT) has gifted us with some extraordinary gifts to shield ourselves from evil. Be it the devil or the evil eye; you can protect yourself by reciting some verses and following particular conduct. Here are a bunch of steps you can take to secure yourself:

Recite Morning and Evening Supplications

Nowadays, there is no trouble gaining access to the morning and evening duas. Technology is the magnum opus of this century. It has made things relatively easy. All it takes is a few clicks on the digital marketplace, and you can have supplication gems on your phone, for free!

Our Beloved Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), advised that if you recite these duas twice every day, they will protect you from all open and hidden evil. Its recitation takes less than ten minutes, but the effect lasts for a long time.

  • Recite the morning duas after Fajr. Or if you miss, you can recite whenever you remember. Ideally, it would be best if you were done with the recitation before leaving your house.
  • Recite the evening duas between Asr and Maghrib prayers. Make sure to recite during this span as evil spirits are unleashed after Maghrib.

It is essential to understand the meaning of all supplications and fathom the benefits it will bring. Also, make sure you recommend others around you to shield themselves too. If you have young children around, blow over them once you have recited the supplications.

Connect to the Book of Allah (SWT)

Any person who has a strong bond with the Book of Allah (SWT) can never lose against evil. If the intentions are sincere and efforts are consistent, your Lord (SWT) will never fail to protect you. He understands the pains you take for His Word. He loves this servant and grants him/her from His treasures.

Tying a connection with the Quran requires persistence and genuine desire. You must figure out a way to devote some hours to the Book every day. It carries a special Barakah that pushes away the evil that endeavors to harm you.

To our fortune, we can join online Quran lessons where expert tutors provide quality Quranic education. Or you can affiliate yourself with a renowned Islamic institute in your community. Just make sure this process lasts for a long time. It is a domain where knowledge never ends. Once you are done with one line of study, for instance, Tajweed (recitation), you can move on to the next program, like Tafseer (understanding).

Recite Ruqyah

Ruqyah contains specific verses from the Quran that mean to seek refuge in Allah (SWT). The aim is to protect oneself from diseases, cure the evil eye, escape the possession of Jinns, envy, and magic. Each verse of this compilation denotes how human beings are entirely powerless. It tells how they rely on Allah (SWT) to cure all suffering.

Ibn Al-Qayyim said:

“Ruqyah is one of the greatest remedies that the believer should use regularly.”

You can easily find this compilation on the Internet. But make sure the portal is authentic when you do so. It is permissible for one to recite ruqyah on themselves. Plus, there is also an option to blow it over water and drink from this vessel at intervals.

Wrapping it Up

The world where we live, the forces of good and evil are always in collision. Allah (SWT) has blessed us with tools to combat corruption. As Muslims, it is our ultimate duty to implement them, advise others, and stay on our toes to kick the evil spirits from harming us as well as our families.

May Allah (SWT) keep us under His special protection and mercy. Aameen!

Three ways to boost your Imaan

Often, we feel like our Imaan has taken a dip. Despite all our efforts to stay connected with the Almighty, it seems like we are stuck in darkness. These days, it is natural for Muslims to feel nervous. They start thinking that Allah (SWT) is displeased with them and punishing them. Meanwhile, few stop trying to reconnect with Allah (SWT) altogether.

Feelings like these are proof that your Imaan has touched rock-bottom. It is an emergency, and a faithful servant of Allah (SWT) would instantly start his/her endeavor to amplify divinity. As the adage goes, “life is full of ups and downs.” The downs are, sometimes powerful enough, to detract us from the path and lower our enthusiasm.

If you come across these rough patches now and then, you should learn the ways deployed to escalate Imaan. Our religion clearly tells that Imaan keeps fluctuating. Yet, at the same time, it provides us some handy tools to keep it at the top-most levels.

Here are three you can deploy:

Regular Recitation of the Quran

The Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) has said:

“These hearts rust just as iron rusts, and indeed they are polished through the recitation of the Qur’an.”
(Irshad-ul-Quloob)

Reading the Quran ensures that you are connected with Allah (SWT). It projects your eagerness to attain His pleasure. During these phases of regular recitation and understanding when Allah (SWT) answers to all the queries that keep you fuzzed-up during nights.

A strange sense of serenity engulfs your heart, and you feel as though your Creator will solve all your troubles. Thankfully, with online Quran classes and digital Islamic portals, we can now access deep pools of Quranic knowledge while being at the comfort of our home.

The question is, are you ready to sacrifice your time and energies for this cause?

Perform an Act of Kindness

Any act of kindness that you do to serve the creation of Allah (SWT) draws you closer to Him. It could be pouring water for a thirsty person or donating hundreds of dollars to a charity.

Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said:

“Every act of kindness is a Sadaqa (charity)”
(Bukhari, Muslim)

Today, we live in our vast social circles, and it has become relatively easy for us to find out those who need our help. Reach out to those who need it and make sure you do not hurt them by publicizing the charity.

Note that kindness begins at home. Start your work from your family members, be kind and helpful to them. Then, expand your kindness network to other members of the community.

Offer Tahajjud Prayers

Tahajjud is the time when Allah (SWT) lands down to the first heaven, asking people to come and supplicate Him, for He is there to provide them. Anyone who feels their Imaan has taken a downturn should try to wake up in the third part of the night.

The last third of the night is the time right before Fajr. So, it might be tough getting up from bed, but once you are brave enough to get up and make wudhu, you will feel satisfaction in your heart. It can be 15 to 20 minutes before Fajr. Just pray two Raka’ah and ask Allah (SWT) what you’ve been trying to achieve for so long.

Nonetheless, if you want to follow the Sunnah way of praying Tahajjud, here is a narration in this regard:

According to Hazrat Aisha (RA)

“Allah’s Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him) used to offer eleven rak`at, and that was his prayer. He used to prolong the prostration to such an extent that one could recite fifty verses (of the Qur’an) before he would lift his head. He used to pray two Rakat (Sunna) before the Fajr prayer and then used to lie down on his right side till the call-maker came and informed him about the prayer.”
(Bukhari)

Work on this habit, and there won’t be any need to take pills for reducing your stress, inshaAllah!

Final Thoughts

Working to retain the level of your Imaan is a work that you must carry on for a lifetime. Make sure you steer clear of people and circumstances that distract you from the path of Allah (SWT). All the while, keep praying to Allah (SWT) that He calls us in His Court while we are in our best state of Imaan.

Aameen!

Pakistan Day 14th August

Pakistan – a country that came into being after loads of sacrifices and struggles. The nation takes pride in its remarkable history. It was due to unparalleled effort and grit of their forefathers that the nation overcame all roadblocks.

Today, on completing 74 years of existence, Pakistanis feel overjoyed. And rightfully so. However, there are some ethics to adhere by even during celebrations. Instead of playing loud music on the streets and doing fireworks, let’s figure out how we can play a productive role to revamp our state of affairs.

It is okay to celebrate. But let’s celebrate while staying within our religious and cultural limits. Here is what you can do:

• Offer two rakahs voluntary prayer to express gratitude to Allah (SWT)
• Make supplication and plead Allah (SWT) to improve our conditions
• Plan with your friends/family to plant some trees
• Visit an NGO or Social Welfare Home and contribute your time/money
• Analyze your talents and think how you can utilize them for the nation

The point being that at this hour, we need a different approach. We must control the deteriorating condition of our country. Our elders and martyrs shed their blood for this land. It is our responsibility to become active and save it from shredding into pieces.

Let’s show all enemies out there that Pakistan is a determined nation. We won’t allow any external forces to rip us apart. We are the country that always bounces back up when pushed down.

And while we are planning, seek assistance from Allah (SWT) to sort our problems. If He only says BE, no one can stop us from being the next global force!

Insha’Allah.

How to battle the temptations of Dunya?

Shaytan, upon its exit from the heavens, pledged to Allah (SWT). He said he would try at his optimal capacity to distract humankind from Straight Path. But Allah (SWT) expressed confidence in His beloved servants.

All the temptations and sins of this Dunya are roadblocks created by Devil. He aims to widen the distance between the slave and his Master. But as believers, it is our goal to fight these obstacles and draw closer to Allah (SWT). When this bond strengthens, you will discover all your worries vanish away automatically.

For starters, we must understand that sins appear attractive for a reason. Man is weak and prone to slip now and then.

The Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said:

“The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the unbeliever.” (Sahih Muslim: 2956)

A believer should stay mindful of Allah 24/7. If he does so, the protection of Allah will stop him/her in his/her tracks when he/she is about to err. On the other hand, a person who is not mindful of Allah believes he/she can get away with anything. They are likely to adhere by the YOLO (You Only Live Once) notion. It motivates them to maximize their enjoyment in this world, no matter how short-lived it is.

Instead of speculating over the ignorance of masses, an individual should start working on his/her self. What is it that causes them to slip from Straight Path? Why do they feel a void in their hearts despite having everything? How can they battle the sins head-on?

Below, we have rounded up four tips that will allow you to put a brave face and sway away from devilish pursuits. Let’s take a look:

  1. Check Your Heart

Sins do not materialize until the heart is vulnerable. No wonder that Allah (SWT) has blessed us with Surah An-Naas to seek refuge against Satanic whispers. The Surah tells us loud and clear how Devil encourages people to sin by attacking their hearts.

Who whispereth in the hearts of mankind – (Surah An-Naas: 05)

So, when you are treading towards Straight Path, cleanse your heart regularly.

  1. Strengthen Your Commitment

If your conviction of transition is not solid, you are likely to give up midway. It is vital to take some time to increase your sincerity. Jumping right into a massive change can result in the opposite effect. Work on your intentions and make sure you are doing it only for the sake of Allah (SWT).

And every time you feel tired during the journey, recall your commitment. You desired to change for Allah (SWT), so don’t shy away from seeking His assistance when things are tough.

  1. Boost Your Iman Dose

Today, we are living a fast-paced life. In our struggle to stay atop our games, we are unable to determine the real reason we came on this Earth. It was to preserve the religion of Allah (SWT), serve Him (SWT), and His Creation.

Sadly, competitions of this Dunya have enveloped us from all sides. We are more concerned about winning in our academic and financial grounds. However, when someone realizes that they are striding away from their original purpose, they must make up for it. One way to do that is to spike their Imaan.

Actions like doing Tasbeeh, having the righteous company, and understanding the Quran are preferable means to boost your Imaan.

  • The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) told us to ‘Keep your tongue moist with the remembrance of Allah (SWT).’(Arba’in al Nawawi)
  • The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) said, ‘Verily, the parable of a good friend and a bad friend is that of a seller of musk and a blacksmith. The seller of musk will give you some perfume, you will buy some, or you will notice a good smell. As for the blacksmith, he will burn your clothes, or you will notice a bad smell.’ (Sahih al Bukhari)
  • Understanding the Quran will allow you to analyze your devotion to Allah (SWT). Hazrat Umar (RA) said, ‘Take yourselves into account before you are taken to account. Weight yourselves before you are weighed.’ [Ahmad]

Your skill lies in knowing how to make the most out of every second you are alive. For instance, Tasbeeh is easy to do. Just make a habit of uttering praises to Allah (SWT) in your heart. Similarly, delving into the teachings of Quran has also become easy. With Online Quran Learning projects and Digital Islamic Institutes, there is no need to travel long distances.

Apart from these, make sure your circle is equally committed to Allah (SWT) as they fuel your Imaan.

Final Words

All the while, when you are trying to fix your soul, keep performing your obligatory duties. Thinking that you will start praying tomorrow and you will only focus on Tasbeeh today is a wrong approach. Rather, keep doing good deeds, seek Allah’s help, and thank Him for all blessings.

We hope you will sort out your priorities and strive to be the slave Allah (SWT) takes pride in.
